Each horse head is hand-carved from a single piece of teak root. The horse hair mane is carved by hand and very detailed.
Unfortunately, we didn’t properly display the two heads together at the angle I could imagine them on a table. You can display the heads anyway you see fit, but there is a “proper” way I see with both heads facing forward – and spaced appropriately apart. This is how the carver imagined the scene.
The horses are angry – a wild mustang or a bucking bronco? Each head weighs about 80lbs each. I imagined these on a large 60″+ table at the entrance to some office? Or they could be used in a conference room on a table that is 24″ in depth. Or they can be used in whatever application you have designed!! They aren’t really KY racing themed – we imagine this is going to be sold in TX or somewhere out in mid-west.
The lighter portion of the head is not carved – and distinctively highlighted. There are surface cracks in the solid piece of teak. You can clearly make this out in photo #9. The piece of wood sat for one year before carved, but some cracking will occur.
Obviously, dimensions are approximate. We are not breaking up the heads and selling separately. This will ship freight. The boxes will be encased in solid liquid foam.
